Incoloy 800 Features

Incoloy 800 Nickel Alloy contains 15%-25% Chromium, 30%-45% nickel, and a small amount of aluminum and titanium. Type Incoloy 800 remains austenite single zone from being subjected to high temperature to rapid cooling, hence its use state keeps single austenite structure. The high chromium and sufficient nickel content contained within give it high temperature corrosion resistance and wide industrial application. Incoloy 800 alloy also features excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking in chloride, low-concentration NaOH aqueous solution and high-temperature and high-pressure water, therefore it is used to manufacture equipment resistant to stress corrosion cracking.

Incoloy 800 Hot Working

1. The temperature range is 950 ° C ~ 1200 ° C, and the cooling method is water quenching or rapid air cooling.
2. In order to secure best performance and creep resistance, solution treatment is required after hot working.
3. The material can be directly sent to the furnace which has been heated to 1200 °C. With sufficient time of heat preservation, it can be quickly discharged and subjected to hot working in the specified temperature range. When the material temperature drops below the hot working temperature, it needs to be reheated.

Incoloy 800 Cold Working

1. Incoloy 800 has higher work hardening rate than austenitic stainless steel, so its processing equipment needs to be selected. The cold worked material shall be in a solution heat treated state, and intermediate annealing shall be performed when cold working amount is heavy.
2. If the cold working amount is greater than 10%, the parts need to be subjected to secondary solution treatment.

Incoloy 800 Welding Techniques

Incoloy 800 is suitable for welding with the like material or other metals by any traditional welding techniques, such as tungsten electrode inert gas shielded welding, plasma arc welding, manual sub-arc welding, metal inert gas shielded welding, molten inert gas shielded welding, among which pulse arc welding is the preferred option. If manual arc welding is used, it is recommended to use (Ar+He+H2+CO2) as a shielding gas.
