Overview

S32950 is a duplex stainless steel with combined features of austenitic and ferritic stainless steel. Compared with ferrite, it has higher plasticity, toughness, free from room temperature brittleness, with enhanced intergranular corrosion resistance and weldability. At the same time, it also maintains 475°C brittleness and high thermal conductivity of ferritic stainless steel. S32950 features super plasticity. Compared with austenitic stainless steel, it has higher strength, better intergranular corrosion resistance, chloride stress corrosion resistance and excellent pitting resistance. It is a nickel-saving stainless steel.

Corrosion Resistance Performance of S32950

S32950 consists of 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum and 7% nickel. It features high strength and corrosion resistance, mainly used in chemical processing, petrochemical and submarine equipment. S32950 has strong chloride corrosion resistance, high thermal conductivity and low coefficient of thermal expansion. High chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen contained gives it high resistance to pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion and general corrosions.

  • 2) Offshore platform, heat exchanger, underwater equipment, firefighting equipment;
  • 3) Chemical processing industry, utensils and pipeline industry;
  • 4) Desalted plants, high pressure RO plants and submarine pipelines;
  • 5) Mechanical parts (high-strength, corrosion-resistant parts);
  • 6) Others.
